Being Human is Messy

It is okay to cry. In front of people.

It is okay to have a bad day. It is okay to not be happy 100% of the time.

It is okay to feel shame, disappointment, impatience, anger, and anxiety.

It is okay to kiss strangers and sometimes go home with them.

It is okay to be boring. Or quiet. Or talk too much. Or be bossy.

It is okay to let people down. And it is okay to surpass their expectations.

It is okay to have kids and not be married. It is okay to be married and not have kids.

It is okay to love somebody so much it aches in your whole body.

It is okay to meditate for half an hour and not notice your breath once.

It is okay to mess up when you are learning something new. It is okay to mess up.

It is okay to eat meat. To eat wheat. To drink a beer. To eat non-organic, non-vegan, and non-dairy-free food sometimes.

It is okay to live with your parents.

It is okay to watch a whole season of Mad Men in one weekend. In one day.

It does not make you a bad person. It just makes you human. It is messy.
